BLOOR HOME RESPONSE

The housing needs survey for Christleton and Littleton indicated a requirement for only 15 houses for local needs – we don’t need the 200 houses of this development.

The survey also indicated that 95% of the village were totally opposed to large housing developments and only wanted small groups of houses, infill or brownfield development– this proposed development is too large and unnecessary.

The A41 and the A51 or operating at well beyond their capacity, which means there are half mile tailbacks every day.

There is certainly not the capacity on the A41 for the additional traffic generated by this 200 house development.

The PM 2.5 levels on the A41 are many times the guideline levels with consequential risks to residents, children and the elderly.

The land identified for this development is greenbelt which must not be developed as it:

·      Checks the unrestricted sprawl of housing.

·      Prevents  neighbouring communities merging into one another.

·       Assists in safeguarding the countryside from encroachment.

·      Preserves the setting and special character of villages.

There is ample space for housing development in brownfield locations – greenbelt should not be utilised.

This development is not welcome. Please make sure that you return the questionnaire and make these arguments clearLink to online questionnaire.

The results of this consultation will be used in their planning application.

As many people as possible should attend the drop in on July 1 and let Bloor know that they do not want or need 200+ luxurious homes on this site. It does nothing to resolve the local or national housing crisis by taking important areas of Greenbelt which separate the city of Chester from the surrounding villages
