Christmas Tree and Telephone Box Updates

Update on Christmas Tree
Cllr Brown reported that Barlow’s have installed the lights on the “Jim Partington” tree. Regarding lighting a separate dedicated Christmas Tree, Barlow’s confirmed that an electrical connection can be made. However, this has been shelved for this year and the Chair confirmed that the necessary preparation works will need to be commenced in Summer 2025. (Addendum) this is due to the recent weather conditions (wind and rain) and the need for electrical extension not being safe to complete.

Update re refurbishment of Telephone Box and repurposing
Cllr Sinclair reported that the Telephone Box is not watertight so the team who are interested in
turning it into a library are devising a plan to make it suitable to house paper. Regarding the possible installation of a defibrillator, Cllr Sinclair said that guidance had been sought from the Ambulance Service. Ownership of the power supply to the telephone box will also need to be established. Cllr Sinclair will report back to next meetings with costings.
