Little Heath Play Area Refurbishment – Oct’24 Update

To consider applying for funding to FCC Communities Foundation
Cllr Inall reported that a number of issues were still being sorted out with the application including agreement of who is applying for the grant and what for, it was confirmed that it is King George’s Field Trust that are the applicants (not the Parish Council).
FCC also require three further quotes for the work, even though we have the quotation from the Landscape Architect. These are required for comparison purpose and they must be like for like with the original quotation. The applicant also has to advertise and have proof of advertising of the tenders for this this work.
It was confirmed that we have to get this application to FCC as soon as possible as this is the last opportunity to apply for a grant from FCC, due to our proximity to Gowy Land Fill site, who have now stopped contributing to this scheme and there is no other landfill site within the 7-mile required radius.
Cllr Inall will contact 3 companies for the necessary quotations required and is working with FCC to finalise all outstanding issues with the application. The total grant applied for is £72,605.25. FCC are amending their records to make Cllr Inall the primary contact for all future communication (as the Clerk who was the primary contact is currently indisposed). This was agreed by the Parish Council
We are in receipt of two donations one from a local resident and from Deva Bridge Club who held a fund-raising event for the project. The Trustee are very grateful and would like to thank both parties for their generosity.
We are still waiting to hear from Shell regarding our application for funding of £1000.
Cllr Inall was thanked by the members for all her hard work with this project.
