Public Rights of Way – December Update

jpeg Map of proposed change to new public footpath - PUBLIC RIGHTS OF WAY - December Update
Dotted Red Link is proposed compromise.

The Footpath Officer unfortunately could not attend the meeting, so in his place, Cllr Tonge
explained the current situation. The landowner, via their solicitor, has written to CWaC saying
that they are willing to compromise and not take their objection further subject to Footpath A
following a new proposed route. They also say that they are only willing to discuss this new
compromised route for Footpath A and if there are any objections then they reserve the right to
continue and expand their objections relating to the other footpaths.
Discussion took place and in principle it was agreed that we will reply to Cheshire West and Chester with the following:
72/2024 Resolved: The Parish Council will agree to the compromise provided there is no risk
that the landowner will leave us in some situation where neither Footpath A or its substitute
actually make it to the Definitive Map.
