A resident of Plough Lane commented on the following issues of concern:
- Friend of her daughter while walking along pavement to High School was hit by the wing
mirror of a van, which did not stop, and there was no oncoming traffic. The schoolgirl was
subsequently taken to hospital with shoulder injuries. Traffic not adhering to the prescribed
speed limit is of major concern together with the fact that it is not monitored. - The second issue is of flooding which has grown worse over the last two years. High School
students who are dropped off at The Plough Inn (to minimise village centre congestion) have to
negotiate flooded areas along Plough Lane and arrive at the school in very wet footwear.
Cllr Beckitt acknowledged the problems of flooding and drainage in the area and is meeting
with Highways at the end of the month and will raise this and other flooding issues for their
attention and action. He took the resident’s name and contact details and will notify them of
outcome of meeting with Highways. Regarding the first issue the resident said she would give
Cllr Beckitt the contact details of the mother of the injured schoolgirl for his further
investigation.

I have great concern of vehicles being parked on the narrow pavement on Plough Lane forcing children, push chair and wheel chair users to us the road as the pavement is blocked .I am concerned there will be a terrible accident one day.
