Traffic & Safety Updates – February 2025

• High School Problem with cars doing U turns on school property. To be discussed at Liaison
• meeting.
• Collision Risk Area in front of Christleton High School Proposal to be costed of set of flashing lights halfway along Rowton Bridge Road, together with set of warning stripes and slow sign at end of the road.
• HGV mirror hitting Schoolgirl on Plough Lane. Highways have been tasked with looking at ways to prevent this happening again. This is not a one-off incident – there have been other occasions where this has happened to schoolchildren on Plough Lane.
• Haslin Cresent Pedestrian Crossing The suggested proposals have been accepted by Highways and are to be implemented.
• Flooding – Plough Lane Highways to look at deepwater which occurs when heavy rain occurs.
• Flooding – Primary School Car Park Highways to carry out camera inspection of the drains.
• High School Car Park Due to refurbishment of Northgate Arena there are now more users of the Sports Club which is causing car parking problems within the High School grounds and the adjoining roads. To be discussed at Liaison meeting.
