Traffic Update – July 2024

Plough Lane/Rake Lane Junction  In response to the fatality at this junction, Highways have produced a speed reduction plan for the area and have sent consultation documents to 63 directly affected properties. The consultation ends on 26 July. CWaC will only proceed with the proposed speed limit change if more than 50% of those who respond support the proposal. It is the view of the Parish Council that all respondents say “Yes” to this proposal.
Cllr Foxhall has upload consultation information to the PC Facebook page for anyone affected who has not received the leaflet.

Great Boughton and Huntington children’s safety en route to the High School  The Parish Council and the High School are working towards funding the resurfacing of the Canal footpath and walking priority conversion of Rowton Bridge Road. Funding of these two interventions by the Saighton Camp S106 funding has been identified as a high priority by the surrounding Parish Councils and respective Ward Councillors. A petition will be prepared as we are not getting sufficient traction from CWaC.

It was agreed that the grass verge at the left of the junction of Brown
Heath Road and Rake Lane be continued to be cut at a cost of £65 per month until
September. This is to improve visibility for road users.
