Little Heath Play Area
Little Heath Play Area
Following months of hard work lead by Cllr InaIl with work from Cllr Buckley, Tongue and funding assistance from Mary Lavery, Sarah Dobbins, John Seiler and additional funding from the FCC Grants committee the playground upgrades were soft launched on Wednesday 2nd July, following a first play and test from Christleton Primary School’s year 5 students on the Tuesday.
The official opening day was on the 29th July, and was officially opened by MP Aphra Brandreth.
Despite the lacklustre weather as number of people attended with children taking part in a scavenger hunt. Aphra kindly spoke to local residents and official opened the upgraded park. She was such a good sport she even had a go on the brand new zip wire.

A number of new trees have been planted creating a nature walk around the playing field as well as various new equipment including zip wire, accessibility round-a-bout, climbing frame and basketball net.

This comes following numerous consultations with local residents to the park where the following amendments were made:
- The relocation of the basketball hoop.
- The relocation of the new zip wire.
Some concern was raised by a local resident as to an increase in traffic to visit the play area and the affects it could have on the roads. We feel there will be little to no impact as this play area is for local residents and similar facilities are provided by neighbouring parishes and therefore will not attract additional people from outside the local area.

Since early planning back in 2023 numerous communications have been sent out to local residents via leafletting, A41 magazine advertisements as well as our regular posts to our website and social media pages.
