Littleton Lane, Carriageway Resurfacing Works DELAYED

DUE TO A NON RESPONSE FROM SCOTTISH POWER THE PLANNED ROAD WORKS CAN NOT TAKE PLACE DUE TO LOW HANGING CABLES. WE WILL ADVISE WHEN A NEW DATE IS PROVIDED.

When are the works taking place?
The works will commence on Wednesday 10th September 2025 and will be completed on
Monday 15th September 2025, with daytime closures between 08:00 & 17:00hrs. These
closures have been planned to limit the impact on the local area.

Why are we doing this? & What works will be carried out?
The works need to be carried out to replace the road surface, which has reached the end
of its life. The works will include the removal of the existing carriageway surface, the
laying of some deeper, ‘structural’ patches, the repair and replacement of the ironworks
and the laying of the a new road surface and carriageway markings.

How could the works impact me?
Once the works commence there will be a road closure in place, this is necessary to
ensure the safety of both the public and the workforce. A signed diversion route will be
in place throughout and pedestrian access to properties will be maintained at all times
whilst the full road closure is in place. Please remove all vehicles from the carriageway
by 07:45hrs.

Will the work be noisy & what precautions should I take during the works?
Some aspects of this work will be noisy, there will also be alarms from our vehicles when
reversing which are mandatory for health and safety reasons. We will endeavour to keep
all noise to a minimum and your patience on this matter is appreciated. Residents will
not need to take any specific precautions as signed diversion routes will be in place.
Pedestrian access to properties & businesses will be maintained but vehicular access
maybe restricted especially when removing and relaying the new road surface.

Wednesday 10th September 2025 – Full road closure for the removal of existing road
surface and the laying of some deeper, ‘structural’ patches,
Thursday 11th September & Friday 12th September 2025 – Full road closure for the
repair of ironworks in carriageway.
Monday 15th September 2025 – Full road closure for the laying of new road surface and
the reinstatement of road markings.
