Village Green – Jubilee Sycamore Tree

Recent concerns have been raised about the poor health of the sycamore tree on the village green. After a meeting and inspection with one of the tree officers from Cheshire West and Chester Council, it was confirmed that significant bracket fungus in the tree canopy and identified rot in higher branch junctions means that unfortunately the tree will have to be removed. 

The tree is going to be pollarded at 2.0 metres, the bench around the base of the tree will remain in-situ and it is hoped that after this work has been carried out, new growth will sprout from the trunk.

This work is proposed to be carried out within the next three months.
