Traffic and Safety Update April 2025

Flooding

Mercure Hotel to Hamburger Roundabout Highways have cleared the drains but
Highways have still not cleared the drains on the A41 near the Pearl Lane Junction.
Flooding issues remain at Plough Lane, junction of Townsend Way with Pepper Street, entrances
to High School and Primary School, all of which impede access for schoolchildren. Highways
have advised these will be included in their forthcoming works programme.

Speed Limit Signage To be installed within the next few months.
Birch Heath Lane Build-Out Highways in discussion with objector prior to quotation for work.
Flashing Lights – Rowton Bridge Road Awaiting quote from Highways
Warning Lights – Haslin Crescent Pedestrian Crossing Awaiting finalised plans.
Junction of Whites Lane/A41 Request to Highways for road markings to improve access exiting
Whites Lane onto A41/Whitchurch Road.

Village Assistant

Cllr Beckitt commended the Village Assistant, Gill Brown, on her recording and reporting of
blocked grids which she forwards to Highways. There are 229 grids in the Village and currently,
34 are blocked (and reported).
